Getting the most out of coaching
Group programs and one-to-one sessions are most effective when the player is keen to improve their game. By advising us of what standard you are aspiring to achieve and how many hours per week you would like to train, our coaching team will be able to suggest a suitable programme based on years of experience.

Diamond Community Tennis (DCT)
Aimed at players who are looking to play once a week for fun and fitness and could play recreationally as an adult. This is our pay and play the affordable tennis offer. All sessions are booked online via the booking tab above. The sessions are fun and progressive. Players are taught the skills of tennis with their friends. Indoor sessions are possible as are some sessions at their school.
Diamond Community Tennis + (DCT+)
Aimed at players who play at least once a week and are keen to compete in local competitions. The sessions are carefully structured for players to learn the skills to play as quickly as possible. Trackers are used so players, parents and coaches are clear on the which skills are being taught. Skills are checked each half term. Players are given an assessment when they join to makes sure they are in the correct group. Players move to the next stage when they have completed all the skills on the tracker. A matchplay element is included weekly in each session. The programme is paid for monthly by direct debit.
Diamond Hubs; to replace the Tennis Wales hubs, for competition players wanting to improve and have an indoor session each week. Tactical skills worked on in the main. No technical skills worked on but advice communicated to the players individual coach if appropriate. Fitness (S&C) sessions each week is an optional extra. Sessions run weekly during term time 39 sessions per year. Paid monthly on direct debit.
We will look to have 1:4 coach: player ratios, and also to have some girls only and boys only sessions. The aim is to keep these player training throughout the year, and to compete in 12 competitions per year minimum, with South Wales closed and Junior Welsh mandatory events.
Monthly hubs will all be set up, for competition players looking to progress towards county standard. Once per month, 10 sessions per year. Held indoors. Tactical and matchplay of both singles and doubles will be covered. Friendly “county development” standard matches will be arranged through out the year.

Procedure for coaches who would like their player to join DTA
Please contact director of Tennis Sena Tengey by email email@example.com to let him know about the player, their attitude towards tennis, towards training and their current skill level.
The sessions would be separate to our own internal Academy sessions. We aren’t looking to bring in players from outside our environment into the Academy. We would follow strict procedures about any parent requesting to join the Academy.
Diamond Tennis Academy (DTA)
The Diamond Tennis Academy programme is based upon our 20 + years of working with development players. The aim of our programme is to produce players keen to compete. The programme is carefully monitored, with players progress checked regularly.
Players commit to a minimum of 1x 30 minute individual and 1x squad session with us. Also they will compete in 12 external competitions per year. This is an invitation only programme. Players will be assessed to place them in the correct group. Their individual training plan will develop from there.
Diamond Tennis Academy + (DTA+)
The Diamond Tennis Academy + programme is based upon the LTA local player development centre criteria. The aim of our programme is to produce as a minimum county standard senior players from the local community. The programme is carefully monitored, with players progress checked regularly.
Players commit to a minimum of 2x 30 minute individual and 2x squad session with us. Also they will compete in 12 external competitions per year. This is an invitation only programme. Players will be assessed to place them in the correct group. Their individual training plan will develop from there.
If you’re already happy with the standard of tennis you’re playing, participating in our matchplay sessions provides a great opportunity to compete against other players of similar ability. This social and competitive environment is ideal to test your skills or put into practise what you’ve learned during teaching sessions. We run a variety of sessions across three venues (House of Sport, Cowbridge Leisure Centre, please see below for the current course start dates and programme schedule by venue.
Our monthly payment system is based on 39 sessions aligning with the academic year, which allows us to build 4 weeks of free coaching into the schedule!

The whole team at Diamond Tennis Academy value our students, and its important for us to reward the hard work and commitment they put in. For our kids programmes, students can earn Bronze, Silver and Gold rewards in every session they attend. Attendance, effort and progression are a few examples of the qualities we seek to cultivate. Students will be congratulated on their hard work at a presentation ceremony in March each year.
